Apply for the Zoom Ops Moderator Role

I am looking for a moderator that will help with Zoom operations for my new course, Thinking In Stories.

Thinking In Stories is a 3-week long course that shows students how to identify their best ideas, connect them together, and package the result into stories that showcase their unique voice. The cohort starts on October 25th and ends on November 15th.

Live Zoom sessions will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM PST, and Premium sessions are every Friday at 12 PM PST. Expect to add buffer time of ~20 minutes before each live session for prep, and a few minutes afterward for discussion with me. In addition, there will be a short planning session each week as well.

These are the primary responsibilities that the Zoom Ops moderator will have:

– Survey the chat and take note of interesting comments/questions
– Create and organize breakout rooms
– Bring students from the waiting room into the session
– Remind students of prompts in breakout rooms
– Send out assignment links and relevant URLs when necessary
– In a nutshell, take care of everything Zoom-related so I can focus on instruction

You should have experience in moderating Zoom sessions, and if you’ve done it for online courses in particular, I’d love to hear from you.

I will be paying a stipend for this position, but the real value is that you’ll have a front-row seat in operating a cohort-based course with me. If you’re interested in this position, please apply here:

I will be reviewing applications over the next few days, so please submit yours as soon as you can. The deadline is this Saturday, September 25th, but I recommend you apply soon for early consideration. Thanks!

-Lawrence

Important: If you are a Thinking In Stories student (or plan on being one), please do not apply. I want you to be 100% focused on the student experience, and have 0% of your attention on course operations.
